Wise Livingmindful practices to bring out our best selves

 

Neuroscience says we become what we practice. This 3 hour program will offer a chance to slow down and become more aware of how we respond to daily life stressors. We will use various combinations of seated meditation, journaling, and partner/group exercises to explore habits and tools for more mindful living. There will be a home practice component for those interested in integrating learnings into everyday situations. Each month will offer a different mindful practice theme.

 

January’s Wise Living theme is Right Speech. Words are powerful. Well-spoken words can move us ahead; careless speech can undermine the best of intentions. Is there a way to pause before speaking? How often does what we say follow the guidelines for “right” speech: truthful, useful, kind, well-timed? We’ll look at ways to build presence into our listening and speaking to create more meaningful and effective communication.
